Mascotia started with a simple observation: our cats kept choosing the windowsill over every expensive bed we bought them. Not the plush one. Not the heated one. The narrow, cold, uncomfortable ledge with a view.
So we stopped guessing what pets should like and started paying attention to what they actually pick. Warmth. A view of the world going by. Something stable underneath them. That's the whole brief.
What we look for in a product
Every item in our catalog has to earn its place against four questions:
- Will a pet actually use it? If it looks great in a photo but gets ignored in real homes, it doesn't make the cut.
- Does it survive real life? Metal frames over plastic. Removable, machine-washable covers over "spot clean only." Fur, claws and the occasional hairball are the standard, not the exception.
- Is it honest about its limits? We publish weight capacities, mounting requirements and what won't work. A window hammock that needs smooth glass should say so before you buy it, not after.
- Would we put it in our own home? Pet gear shares your living room. It should look like it belongs there.
How we work
We're a small operation, not a warehouse giant. We work with vetted suppliers and ship from U.S. fulfillment partners, which keeps delivery times reasonable and prices fair. What we don't do is carry hundreds of near-identical products just to look bigger — we'd rather stock a short list we can stand behind.
