How to mount it in two minutes
- Soak the suction cups in warm water for 10 minutes. This softens the rubber and lets it return to its moulded shape. Skipping this is the single most common reason a perch falls.
- Clean the glass properly. Glass cleaner, then a dry cloth. Dust and grease are what break a seal — not the cups themselves.
- Dry both surfaces completely. A wet cup slides before it grips.
- Press each cup firmly and lock it down, working around the frame rather than one cup at a time.
- Wait 24 hours before letting your cat on. Then pull down hard on the frame with your own hand. If it holds your weight pulling, it holds your cat.
Getting your cat to actually use it
Some cats jump straight on. Others stare at it for three days. If yours is the second kind: mount it low at first, put a blanket they already sleep on across the cover so it smells familiar, and feed treats on it for a few days. Position matters more than anything — a window facing a bird feeder, a busy street or a tree will win far faster than one facing a blank wall.
Care and cleaning
Unclip the plush cover and machine wash cold, tumble dry low. Wipe the frame with a damp cloth. Re-check the suction cups every few weeks: if one looks like it is losing its seal, take it off, wash it in warm water, dry it, clean the glass and remount. Suction cups lose grip in cold weather, so if the perch is on a window that gets very cold in winter, check it more often.

Will it really hold my cat?
It is rated to 44 lbs (20 kg), which is roughly four times the weight of an average adult cat. The limit is not usually the frame — it is whether the glass was clean when you mounted it. Do the 24-hour pull test before letting your cat use it.
What kind of window does it need?
Smooth, flat glass. Suction cups will not hold on frosted, textured, tinted-film or leaded glass, and they will not grip on the frame itself. If your window has a grid of small panes, you need a single pane wide enough for all four cups.
Will it damage the glass or leave marks?
No. Suction cups may leave a faint ring that wipes off with glass cleaner. There is no adhesive and nothing is drilled.
My suction cups keep falling. What am I doing wrong?
Nine times out of ten it is the glass, not the cups. Grease from cooking, dust, or cleaning-product residue all break the seal. Clean with glass cleaner, dry fully, soak the cups in warm water for 10 minutes and remount. Cold glass also reduces grip — if the window is below freezing on the outside, warm the cups first.
Can two cats use it at once?
Weight-wise, yes. Space-wise it depends on your cats — most single perches comfortably fit one adult cat stretched out, or two small cats who like each other.
Does it work with blinds or curtains?
Yes. The frame folds flat against the glass so you can close blinds or draw curtains over it without taking it down.
